About the Catchment Solutions Project
The Catchment Solutions Project (CSP) aims to enhance rural capability to achieve essential freshwater outcomes.
CSP is a 3-year collaborative project focused on co-learning, exchange, and outreach for targeted and effective water quality mitigation measures, focused on design and construction of innovative edge-of-field mitigation structures. The Catchment Solutions Project is funded through the Ministry for Environment (Essential Freshwater Fund), in collaboration with co-funding from Hawkes Bay Regional Council (HBRC) and in-kind contributions from DairyNZ and Hawkes Bay Regional Council.
Innovative edge-of field water quality mitigation structures
The project team is working with case study catchment groups in co-learning and mapping of key water quality contaminants and their critical flow pathways from farm-to-catchment-scale, and developing a series of water quality testing events, catchment workshops, field days and professional training (masterclasses), co-developing and sharing capability and expertise required by both the broader farming community and rural support providers to help achieve freshwater outcomes.
The Catchment Solutions Project is led by Massey University Farmed Landscapes Research Centre (FLRC). It is a growing collaborative partnership project and acknowledges its collaboration and support received from:
